Hey everyone, I am gonna be taking over the holiday buyer's guide for the PS3 and PC.
First up, the PS3
There are quite a few hit titles worth getting this holiday season for the PS3
Uncharted: Drakes Fortune
This fun game is published by Naughty Dog, the creators of Crash Bandicoot, and Jak and Daxter. You take the role of Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter whos plane crash lands on an island. Seperated from his friend, Nathan must traverse through this vivdly portrayed jungle, survive gun fights with pirates and other foes, using a Gears of War style cover system. But this has truly great graphics and character animations. Definitely a must buy for PS3 owners.
Assassins Creed
Getting some mixed reviews, Assassins Creed nevertheless is one of the best games and most innovative of this year. Amazing graphics combined with the ability to climb and building lets you experience the breath of huge cities. Taking place during the third crusade, you, guess what, assassinate people. Having some interesting twists along the storyline, Assassins Creed is an action packed game, worth getting for any console.
Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
The dastardly duo is back in their first next-gen (or current gen nowadays) installment. Boasting an enormous variety of quarky weapons, R&C Future is a highly polished and refined with the best elements that everyone loved from the previous games. Fast paced action, fun platforming, and comedic characters: get it.
Call of Duty 4
Want a hardcore shooter with great gameplay, and amazing multiplayer? Well this is it. Not much else to say.
Warhawk
This is an alternative (or get both) for CoD4 in terms of multiplayer. Taking battle to the skies or to the ground, Warhawk is a multiplayer only game (however its only $40) that lets you use the PS3's Sixaxis motion controller to fly your Warhawk plane through the skies blasting your opponents. Polished to the bone, Warhawk proves to be fast paced and fun.
Some others worth mentioning: Virtua Fighter 5, Rock Band/Guitar Hero III, Motorstorm, and of course Resistance: Fall of Man (yes I know it came out last year)
That's about it! Check out the other Holiday Buyer Guides. Deathwish did one for the 360 and the Wii, and look out for my PC guide soon!

Holiday Buyer's Guide: Wii
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgGfHQYWn9TFlYt8f6oyT1lOhyNLHSv52AMav_fAnp-8faFDrmxV_7MQUh352xOHDU8IIp5IGN7KXkaGdf6URu77K7a4KLsH7C03Yu3nC2wYRdXxKQ8Bh3YW_hBZW3tar8zEAVpsnZ7oYk/s400/wii-logo.jpg)
Hey! Christmas and Hanukah (Jewmas) are coming up soon and you need to know what to spend money on!
Nintendo's little white Wii has been quite popular since its release last Fall and is still hard to find in stores. If you already own one, you'll be happy to know that the game drought is over and you can happily play with your Wii once again.
Super Mario Galaxy
If you need any reason to own a Wii, the latest Mario installment is it. Super Mario Galaxy has received amazing reviews across the board and is sure to be a Game of the Year nominee. If you can only get one Wii game this Holiday season, Mario is your man.
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Probably the first FPS on the Wii to feature competent controls, Samus's latest adventure doesn't disappoint. If you are looking for a good game to complement your Wii, look no further than Metroid Prime 3.
Resident Evil 4
Well, sure, it already came out for the Gamecube and PS2, but Resident Evil 4 is a great game none the less and shouldn't be missed. If you like being scared out of your wits, RE4 will make you happy. Plus, the Wiimote works great for killing zombies (or w/e the hell they are).
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
If you missed out on Twlight Princess when it launched with the Wii, now is your chance to play what some reviewers say is the best Zelda game yet.
Holiday Buyer's Guide: Xbox 360
Hey! Christmas and Hanukah (Jewmas) are coming up soon and you need to know what to spend money on!
Everyone owns an Xbox 360 (except Yigginz), but its huge selection of games may be too intimidating for some. Here are the must-have titles this Holiday Season.
Halo 3
Sure, everyone already owns Halo 3 (except Yigginz), but it still tops the 360's list. The campaign is epic and the multiplayer will keep you playing for years to come. New DLC maps are being released on December 11th.
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
COD4 (not a species of fish) has received great reviews and is a definite nominee for Game of the Year. The campaign is intense, though short, and the fast-paced multiplayer will surely keep you entertained. If you are going to get only one game this Holiday (assuming you already have Halo 3), COD4 should be it.
Mass Effect
From BioWare, the makers of Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire, comes Mass Effect. It may look like a standard sci-fi shooter, but it is an RPG at heart. You can customize your character and choose a class (engineer, soldier, or biotic). The dialogue system feels natural as you can even interrupt what others are saying.
Assassin's Creed
This one is tough. Reviews have been mixed; I've seen scores ranging from 6.5 to 10. Reviews have said the game has a hate/love combat system. The ability to navigate around the entire city (well 3 of them actually) is great. The graphics are great, but there are issues with framerate and tear. If you're looking for a GTA style sandbox game set in during the Crusades, Assassin's Creed is for you.
Now, you may have noticed that I left off BioShock and The Orange Box. Well I found BioShock to be a great game (though not for the weak-of-heart) but I didn't find a whole lot of replayability. I would definitely suggest renting it, but I think you should only buy it if you are already buying the other games on the list, or if you really want to harvest Little Sisters. Now for The Orange Box, the only reason I don't have it on the list is because I think it is better suited for the PC. Why? Because Garry's Mod. So, if you own a decent computer for gaming, you should buy it. Oh and a word for the wise: the cake is a lie.
